BrianX Magazine: Describe your youth. Were you active as a kid? Did
the boys love/hate/tease you in high school?

James: Yes, I was very active...a bit of a tomboy, generally causing trouble, staying out late and getting into something that I probably shouldn't have.
The boys definitely loved me. I still keep in touch with many of them, but it was more of a respect thing than a "she's hot" or "she's easy" thing. I wasn't afraid to hang with the guys and get on their
level... I was always going to concerts with them and was the first (okay, maybe second) to crowd surf and drink beer out of the
bottle. I still don't get why chicks put beer in glasses...or worse...over ice! What's up with that?
How did you get into modeling?
I was really shy in my early teen years, but then once I became more comfortable with myself (and got boobs) I just stopped being so inhibited. I started working with a few friends doing album covers and runway shows for their bands/companies and it all sort of took of from there.
I was about 20 at the time.
What made you stick with it?
It is SO much fun. I love to be a part of the creative process, to help achieve someone else's vision and create something fantastic. I love the idea of being immortalized on film and I love the feedback, the fans, all of it!
What's your greatest talent?
I make a mean chocolate chip cookie.

Have you been
recognized based on your 'celebrity status'?
Yup. And it is an amazing feeling! At times I have been very taken aback by it, it is often hard to believe that it is me who is in that magazine or me who is on TV...I sometimes still sit back and say "woah...is that ME?"
What changes in your life would you say are due to your 'fame'?
Not too much. I am still the same person, I have tried hard not to let it affect who I am, but often it is other people's perceptions that have
changed... my friends have begun to treat me differently and my family has been known to carry around the magazines that I have appeared in. Granted I love that they have something that they want to brag about and I love that they are proud of me, but I am still the same girl, I am not snotty or full of myself. I am lucky, but I have worked hard too. It's not all about having the perfect body or the perfect face...it is about what is inside.
What was it like being body painted for OneModelPlace's Modelween party?
It was awesome! The make-up artists were great and the staff was incredible. I had the opportunity to meet all of the "big guys" at OMP and they all treated us so well...we felt like celebrities all night, it was a very memorable experience.
Have you attended private model parties?
Late night partying craziness?
Oh boy...I could tell you some juicy details... cat fights, hook ups, drunken
stupors. I have seen it all. Some of the best parties were nights on the town, being escorted around in stretch hummers, champagne flowing, VIP status at all of the hot spots. At some point in the night someone either hooks up or flashes everyone, models are usually very uninhibited so anything goes. Then their was the "girly party" at my place....that was quite a night too...but too many people would kick my ass if I admitted to those details!
What's the scoop
with the Discovery Channel and HBO?
The response to my Discovery Channel show was great! The Discovery Channel show was my first television spot that included extensive footage. It included b-role and interviews and was so much fun to shoot even though I had never really considered any type of acting as a goal for myself. A photographer who saw my Discovery Channel show asked if I was interested in a pilot for HBO and I decided to apply. I was later informed that I was selected for the show and we started taping on June 4th!!! The show is about the life of models and I will be featured, interviewed, etc. |

Have you been called a "Jersey Girl"?
Thankfully no, people usually assume that I am from the city and I definitely consider myself a city girl.
Do you plan to live there all of your life?
I don't know...I just bought a new house and I LOVE it!!! So, I don't plan on moving anytime soon.
Is it difficult to model with
tattoos?
At first it was, a lot of people told me that I would "never make it in modeling" with tattoos, so I have covered them, tried to hide them and offered to photoshop them, but most of the photographers love them. I have even gotten work because of them.
Best experience?
Getting called back by Marie Claire because the pictures were so good that they wanted me for the centerfold :)
Worst experience?
Bitchy jealous models.

What do you want the world to know about you?
I am more than just a model! I recently graduated from college with honors, as a member of the National Dean's List, a
recipient of the National Honor Roll and a member of the National Honor Society in Psychology and I can bake!
What's the greatest risk you have ever taken?
Moving out at 16.

Do women get catty around you?
Hell yeah! In the supermarket last night this woman gave me such an attitude after literally looking me up and
down. Hello! Make it a little bit more obvious why don't you? Get over it.

Favorite vacation spot?
Disney World...seriously (hey, I told you I was a bit crazy!) but I just love it there. Except for the time I got kicked out for fooling around with my husband...oops!
Favorite place on the planet?
In my husband's arms.
If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?

I have no issue. I am not a fan of promiscuity but a one night stand or two isn't going to hurt anyone if you are careful. Plus, they make

Depends on who I am with, I have played both roles.
